Altona Probus

June 2023

Home from our Adelaide trip and enjoying some great memories. Day 1 via Horsham was long but the first night in Adelaide set the tone for the rest of the week!! The service was impeccable. At the end of dinner I thanked the staff and asked them to pass our thanks to the chefs. On our final night the three chefs came out to our tables and thanked us for choosing their hotel. What a lovely touch.. An immensely enjoyable trip had by everyone. ARJ did a great job picking the Rockford Adelaide.

Just wanted you to know that we are home safely with no issues at all on the trip. Everyone was thrilled with the accommodation, meals (though too much food!) and activities. The Driver was excellent and a very friendly person.
I am happy to give you more feedback if useful and have already promoted the trip to 2 other Probus groups. And thanks to you for all your support with the changes over about 18 months from planning to inception.

Everyone who has spoken to me, rung me, baled me up in the shopping centre, etc, had a fantastic time. Thank you so much for putting together the trip for us, it took so long thanks to Covid but we all said it was worth it.

I am writing on behalf of our Wangaratta West Combined Probus Club activity organisers, Helen & Ivy, and the passengers who enjoyed the coach trip to Mildura, Broken Hill, Mungo National Park between 31st March and 5th April 2022. After trying for more than two years we finally got there and it was worth it.

Hi Cesare,

The trip was much enjoyed by everyone . Our bus was clean and comfortable and driver Henry was an excellent driver, very helpful, entertaining, approachable and liked by everyone. The accommodation was amazing with good sized rooms in a nice setting and a short walk to the beach, the food was excellent. Our thanks to yourself and Bayside Coaches for a great three days.

Probians from Zeally Bay at Torquay

March 2022

Our base for 3 nights was the Gateway Hotel in Wangaratta - a magnificent choice. The rooms, surroundings, staff & catering were just perfect. All our touring was exciting & well received by members. Justin’s excellent commentary & humour kept us entertained. He allowed me to “Bluetooth” my music through the coach so members could sing along or listen to a wide choice of songs on our trip home.

Congratulations on a wonderful agenda/itinerary. A big thank you to ARJ, together with Kanga Coaches, for giving us the opportunity to get out & away. 4 days is the ideal time frame with free time & tours a great balance.

Just a note from a happy traveller.

Croydon Probus Club

November 2021

Twenty two members and friends of two Croydon Probus Clubs enthusiastically boarded the bus on Monday 15th of November at 8:15am. Our driver Helen skilfully got us to our first break for morning tea in Kyneton and then to lunch at Newbridge. In the afternoon we were suitably impressed by the extensive creations of the now deceased Spanner Man; his wife enlightened us thoroughly and everybody expressed their amazement at John Piccoli’s skill and persistence despite his polio impediment. On the way to Horsham we viewed the first silo mural at Rupanyup.

After 580km we made to the Westlander Motel, where check-in was smooth and dinner was yummy. We got an extra sleep-in of 30 minutes before our buffet breakfast at 8am and headed off to view the silo murals at Sheep Hills, Brim, Beulah and Rosebery with a morning tea stop at Warracknabeal and a tasty lunch at Hopetoun, where the wall murals are noteworthy. We headed back south to view our last silo murals at Patchewollock and enjoyed a very informative talk in the Stick Shed at Murtoa.

Dinner at the Westlander was scrumptious again and the camaraderie of the by-now-familiar fellow travellers was enjoyed by all. Most of us enjoyed the comfort of our rooms by 9pm and got a really good sleep before our breakfast at 7:30 am on the Wednesday. Packed and eager we were back on the bus by 8:45am and headed to the Sylvania Park Mohair Farm where Rowena Doyle impressed us with a very detailed farm history presentation. We spent way more than our allocated hour and reluctantly boarded the bus for our home stretch. Morning Tea was at Great Western and lunch at the racecourse in Wendouree before driving all the way back to Croydon where we arrived happy and relaxed at about 4:30pm.

After our extensive lockdowns, this trip was a welcome initiation to much more travelling to come. Some were relieved that Peter did not follow through on his threat of hours of singing on the bus, and everybody really enjoyed the silence during the last few hours, when even Peter ran out of things to say.

Looking forward to the next trip,

Hilla, Croydon Probus Club

I want to thank Australian Road Journeys firstly for going ahead with our
trip, 16 of us had a great time with appreciative comments from everybody.

Our bus driver Harvey was excellent with his calm and friendly manner when
some of the items on the itinerary were cancelled and I was happy to
assist him when he improvised by finding other options. The accommodation
and food was excellent both in Warrnambool and Portland.

A Great trip so thanks again.

Glenferrie Probus Club

June 2019

We all had the most lovely relaxing and informative trip. We were very well looked after by RACV and we had Trevor, who is the best coach driver with interesting information about all sorts of relevant facts. He is entertaining too. The visits were so good and we learnt lots. We will all recommend you and look forward to our next holiday which I can see we will use Australian Road Journeys again.

Thank you so much for every bit of help you gave us and for every extra help you gave me as things changed. I really appreciated the ease of my job in the group.

We really had a wonderful time.

On behalf of our Club, Probus Club of Torquay Zeally Bay Inc., I wish to congratulate you on organising our week away in Noosa, Queensland. 27 members enjoyed a most memorable seven day holiday.

From the minute we left Torquay, on the Subury Bus Line, to the airport, we were all excited. Virgin Airlines were so helpful with the “Group Booking”. Nothing went wrong. We arrived at Sunshine Coast, picked up our luggage and were driven by Trevor (great fella-Coolum) to RACV-NOOSA. Fabulous coach we had for the week’s touring.

RACV staff looked after us so well. Accomodation, meals, facilities, pool etc. were perfect. The night dinners were magnificent. The waiter staff, headed by Michael, were so helpful. The last night was especially special. The RACV staff rearranged tables for us to be together outside, adjacent to the pool. Gas heaters were provided and pizza served with salad for all of us. Most impressive. They also stayed open for us Essendon supporters to watch the footy. A great gesture.

As you may see, Cesare, you did a fantastic job in selecting this tour, based around RACV Resort. We talked about returning next year! Thanks again for a wonderful experience. It shows that we don’t need to venture overseas to enjoy a holiday. Australia has it all.

By the way, I forgot to mention: The ladies loved Hastings Street. I’m sure that a few shops did well !!!

A big thanks for coming up with such a great itinerary for Uluru and Alice Springs, it was a selection of excellent venues with great food and accomodation, our main bus driver and guide, Kylie (with pink hair), was a delight, happy, considerate and a wealth of information.

There was so much included in this fabulous tour which our whole group enjoyed.

We all had a great time and I would recommend "Australian Road Journeys" to any Probus Group.

Our Club has had a long and successful association with Cesare Cataldo of Australian Road Journey’s. Their Itineraries are well presented, and they have altered them on many occasions to suit our Club requirements. The many Tours throughout Australia have proved very popular with our members. The pick-up and drop-off service in very comfortable buses makes a big difference considering the age of our Members. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent Company for your tours.

I am pleased to report that the trip was sensational and beyond all expectations.  The accommodation was first class especially 'The Grand Hotel In Mildura which was exceptional in location, food and all in all friendliness and professionalism. Our driver Jonathan was a lovely bloke who never missed a beat, which considering the number of locations and places of interest we visited was of itself amazing. Congratulations Australian Road Journeys - you certainly know how to organise a trip.

On behalf of the Wangaratta West Combined Probus Club we would to thank and congratulate your company and staff for the wonderfully organised “Marvellous Melbourne” trip which we all recently enjoyed. Home safely after a great trip to the UK. It was a good bunch of people who all seemed to get on OK together. Alison and Chris were both very professional and lovely people. The scenery was spectacular, hotels and food great. Scottish Highlands the best...
